SPECIFICATION AND TYPES OF LOCKERS

VANDAL PROOF LOCKERS

This is our best selling range of lockers. The patented design ensures that these are the most secure locker available in the U.K. These lockers are manufactured from a rigid, welded steel carcass which is reinforced to withstand any force that is applied to it. We have found that with traditional school lockers, when a child loses their key they dent and deform the metal door allowing it to be prised open. This can not happen with our lockers. The doors are made from solid 10mm thick laminate (Trespa) which is riveted to the hinge. These lockers are now becoming the choice of many schools across the U.K. and the City Academies as these lockers will withstand the test of time and require very little maintenance. These lockers will last for a minimum of ten years and indefinitely if well maintained.
We would recommend this range of lockers for secondary schools, universities, sports centres, hospitals, prisons or any public place where vandalism could be a problem or where security is needed.
We also supply plinths and bench seating. We offer a full installation service.
New to our range are lockers with perspex doors. The perspex has a ten year guarantee and these lockers allow you to see inside the locker.

MDF / WOOD LOCKERS

This range of lockers would be more suitable for places where storage is required but where there is minimal risk of vandalism. We have supplied these lockers to primary schools. The doors can be manufactured in a range of colours and the size of locker can be made to order These lockers are still very secure and will last a number of years.

STAINLESS STEEL LOCKERS

We would recommend this range of lockers to be used where hygiene is the main criteria, for example in hospitals, food processing and lesiure centres.

GOLF CLUB LOCKERS

We use a rigid steel carcass and solid laminate door and end panels with a wood effect finish. This creates the impression of wood but with a much higher level of security.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

Lockers can have 1 to 6 compartments dependent on their use and be made to different dimensions if required. Each compartment is fitted with a Solid 10-mm thick laminate door (made from Trespa) riveted to a piano hinge. The hinge is riveted to the framework. The carcass of the locker is made from welded steel reinforced to ensure it does not crumple when force is applied. We have found that unless you reinforce the carcass it will crumple if force is applied to the door. The solid laminate doors are supported on a rigid frame as described otherwise it becomes a simple method to prise them open. This is a weakness on traditional school lockers, which are made in the same way as a ‘Biscuit Tin’

IDENTIFICATION

Each locker is identified with an aluminium disc etched in black with a number and riveted to the door.

OPTIONS

COLOURS

The door colours can be chosen from a wide range. The speckled colours are the best, as they hide the dirt. Metalwork is degreased; Zinc Phosphated and finally Epoxy Powder coated normally a Black or Brown texture finish.

If the lockers are to be used in a wet area. We need to know this before manufacturing as the carcasses are treated in a different way to stop corrosion.

Please find below a small selection of the colours available.

END PANELS

If end panels are required, they can be supplied (End panels are normally fitted to the end of a long row of lockers to stop rubbish collecting behind them). We can also supply batons and edging strips.

INSTALLATION

We recommend the lockers be screwed to the wall; otherwise any locker is liable to fall over and injure someone. Fixing holes can be set into the locker for this purpose. The lockers can also be riveted together if they are not being positioned against a wall. We will carry out this work if required.

MAINTENANCE

We pride ourselves in the fact that we have never had to supply a replacement door.

RENTAL INCOME

Some schools rent the compartments back to the pupils. This method allows a relatively short payback period and enables finance to be raised through Bank Leasing schemes. We can provide advice if required.
